IOWA TEST OF BASIC SKILLS RESULTS!!
The Catholic Diocese of Peoria requires the testing of students in grades 3, 6, and 8, using the standardized testing provided by Riverside Publishing in the format of the Iowa Test of Basic Skills.
Presented in the links below are the results for the 3rd, 6th, and 8th grade classes. St. Louis School teachers use these results to tailor the curriculum for the rest of the school year to meet the needs of their students.
This report is presented in the format similar to the “Meets” and “Exceeds” format that public schools use with the ISAT testing. Our students performed well in Reading, Math, Social Studies, and Math. We are working to raise the scores in Language Arts this year by redesigning our curriculum in Language Arts. We have adopted a new spelling series and phonic series for grades 1-5 and will be implementing Shurley English at the lower levels (used at the junior high level for several years).
We are very proud of our students and how well they performed. All of our stakeholders must realize, though, that this test is just a snapshot of how they did in a standardized testing format at a particular point of time. Many other assessments are used to measure the achievements of our students.
